Procoptodon goliah. At 8' 10" or 2.7m, this was (possibly) the largest kangaroo to ever roam our planet. They evolved such heights to reach leafy browse. One can only wonder what the first people to reach Australia must have felt seeing such giants.

My work on these commissioned reconstructions of Pleistocene marsupials continues. Here is a WIP on the very odd proportioned and large kangaroo Procoptodon anak. It had a very short tibia, long arms and a very long neck. A really amazing species #paleoart #marsupials
