#Inktober 2017: Inky Cap (Ink on Bristol) My theme was strange or interesting #plants/fungi. I chose many deadly & medicinal varieties for my subjects. The #InkyCap is also known as the Tippler's Bane bc, while edible, it becomes poisonous when eaten w alcohol. #drawing #art

Black #Hellebore (Ink on Bristol) My theme for #Inktober 2017 was strange or interesting #plants. I chose a lot of deadly and medicinal varieties for my subjects. This #flower, which blooms in winter, was used by the ancients to treat insanity, melancholy, gout, and epilepsy.

#Inktober 2017: #Belladonna (Ink on Bristol) My 2017 theme was strange/interesting plants, many deadly or medicinal. The leaf & root is used for medicine. The name means "Beautiful Lady" in Italian, due to the risky practice of women using the berry juice to enlarge their pupils.
