Terada's art, though, which I love... it's detailed but not clean. Not "perfect". Sometimes backgrounds are simple flat colors. But the confidence of the linework and the way it all comes together to create a mood! There's very little like it! Anyway, you get what I'm saying. 😉

Not that I find criticism of Souls games untrue, it's that I'm too wrapped up in feeling like I've jumped into the pages of Nintendo Power haha It isn't just visuals, either - the design also has to be tuned a certain way to evoke the excitement of these drawings in game form.

I will definitely admit that it's hard for me to clearly see and separate the jank of Souls games from the overall experience. And it's because when I'm playing I feel like I'm in a Katsuya Terada Zelda illustration come to life!
