#LovecraftianHorror #Inktober 13: #HerbertWest #Reanimator. This is probably the only #HPL story I knew before I read it, so I gave a subtle nod to #JeffreyCombs (@jeffreycombs) since he's so closely associated with the role-though I set it in the story's time period of the 1910s

#LovecraftianHorror #Inktober 11: #TheOutsider. Another one of my favourites, & in my opinion, the most #autobiographic of #HPLovecraft's stories. Others have posited this idea, & when you consider #HPL's life & even his mother's words about him as a child, the theory rings true.

#LovecraftianHorror #Inktober 10: #Nyarlathotep in his more human form. Sources suggest #HPLovecraft was greatly inspired by #NikolaTesla in his creation of #TheCrawlingChaos. But also he's described elsewhere as looking like an #Egyptian #pharaoh.

#LovecraftianHorror #Inktober 8 from #TheCaseofCharlesDexterWard. I gave #Ward and #Curwen a vague #VincentPrice look because he played the roles in #RogerCorman's #TheHauntedPalace. It was one of #HPL's least favourite stories, but I rather like it.

How these #Inktober pieces come together (left to right, top to bottom-#progression): I start w/a few lines in pen to get the composition. Then I just start drawing. Basic shapes that I refine as the piece comes together. I use brush & #ink or #brushpen to block in shadows. 1/3
