The medium is beautiful and blameless. The industry is where the dirt is. Young creators often make poor business and life decisions because they go in wearing their fan blinders. Making comics with your favorite childhood characters rocks, but not for shit pay and no royalties.

That time @colorkitten & I wrote a 30+ pg bible for a Kamandi animated series for WB, aimed at the Adult Swim. Made the rounds. One response was that it was too funny for an action series, and had too much action for a comedy series. Dagger in me heart, imo we honestly killed it.

In the last week or so I've become aware that there is a bit of an Eltingville Club fandom out there, mostly due to the old Adult Swim pilot, and people who weren't alive when I was drawing the early comics are drawing fan art of the characters and that is super amazing to me.

Yesterday the throwaway Two-Face panel I drew two decades ago got more attention than anything I've ever posted myself, so, what the hell, if you like jerky comic book jokes, there's a lot of them in the HC Dork collection from @DarkHorseComics. It's a comic book full of comics.
