Finally what release is complete without some deleted scenes. I really wanted to fit so much into one painting, definitely too much ultimately. Particularly proud of the giant facehugger zombies idea and the amygdala head xenomorph eggs.

A major struggle point for me was the queen's face. My biggest breakthrough was when I bought a bluray drive to go frame by frame at max res for reference. I even found rare concept art on the 1991 laserdisc release I'd never seen before to help me out. Jim Cameron is crazy good.

I remember being linked the most hateful 4chan threads about my art because I made gengar a bat and scyther a dinosaur a decade ago. Some folks really out there choosing to only hate on the works of others instead of ever trying to make anything themselves.

Experimenting with some workflow ideas: 1) Lines with hue jitter set to per stroke 2) Sharpen tool to really grain up texture to imply detail 3) Shadows: inner glow(multiply) with low fill 4) Light: hard light layer with outer glow(overlay) 5) Mixer brush on top

I tried hard to mimic the 3D art style you see in modern Pokemon cards with these. It may come as no surprise to you smart people but painting a faux 3D aesthetic took much longer than I expected. Please admire the subtle but complex detail I tried to get in there.
