I usually don't post these cause I use this as a warm up before I do a bg but hey hope this helps on how I train for efficient strokes. Also it's a fun little brain teaser and gets me moving my brush in interesting ways to make more efficient shapes!
To practice efficient brush strokes so I can do studies like this, I take the time and do stuff like "Can I paint an apple in 10 brush strokes? How about 5 brush strokes?" and it's helped me a lot with speedpainting.
