TFW you were able to sew a fly for a #Cosplay without looking at a reference and feel a nanosecond of pride until you realize that you were so intent on the "hard" part that you forgot that you hadn't done the knee pads or other details, so out comes the seam ripper on the inseam

@86thFloor I usually go as a variant of Captain America. My daughter loves #cosplay and as of last year started going as Captain America sometimes too.

We saw people who I recognized or recognized me from @wickedcomiccon that was super nice. In addition we saw some nice #cosplay I don't understand the Dr. Eggman, but sometimes you have to let art flow over you.

Tip for #cosplay - got an old pair of pants that fit you well? Take them apart and use them as a pattern. Here I've modified the front panel (right in the first photo) so they look like Captain America's stealth suit.

Got the sleeves sewn on. Just need to hem the bottom and put on the bands. Thanks again to @silhouettecos for the trick for using bra cups at shoulder forms. This suit ought to allow more mobility. #cosplay #workinprogress

Why #cosplay suits take me more than a year: my last Captain America suit has poor range of motion in the arms. The sleeves of this suit are neoprene with Velcro to hold upper arm covers. It took me > 1 month just to figure out how to do this and not sure if it would work.
