Adding onto this—like I said it's not BAD, it just feels restrictive because the 2D art following the rules set in a 3D space takes that stylization away If Uekawa based his early Sonic art off the DC models for accuracy instead of stylization, his art would've looked different! twitter.com/SoaHCity/statu…

Regarding the Sonic crying discourse I saw this weekend, to me it's clear that he really doesn't like to cry and bottles it up. Sonic X's original run in Japan ended with him crying and we don't even really get to see his face. This was the final shot of him before it ended, too.
