Newest #watercolor is of the recently-described filter-feeding #pterosaur, #Balaenognathus. Most interesting imo is the drastically keeled pallet, preventing it from closing its mouth all the way (unless there was some soft tissue on the jaws?) #paleoart #scicomm

Fun trivia. When @danny_oolithus and I were brainstorming ways to show variation in the #Coelophysis in my #paleoart for his recent paper, we geeked out on how cool the old #JurassicPark toy was and how the trading card art had color variations. That ended up as the inspiration.
